What is Steampunk?

Steampunk is a sub-genre of fantasy and speculative fiction that came into prominence in the 1980s and early 1990s. The term denotes works set in an era or world where steam power is still widely used—usually the 19th century, and often Victorian era England—but with prominent elements of either science fiction or fantasy, such as fictional technological inventions like those found in the works of H. G. Wells and Jules Verne, or real technological developments like the computer occurring at an earlier date.

Meet the Crew of the Airship Lollypop

Captain Skye Morgenstern

(AKA - Lori)

Captain of the Airship Lollypop

Captain runs a tight ship.

She commands the Airship Lollypop and her crew.

(And yes ....it IS a good ship)

She safely guides her airship through

air and sea on its many dangerous adventures.

Thaddeus Cogsworth

(AKA - Todd)

Ships Engineer and inventor.

Cogsworth is instrumental in keeping the ship aloft and the crew armed with new inventions to fight off sky pirates all the while keeping their beverages cold.

Augusta Fursten Von Waldeck

(AKA - Kris)

Science officer

Foreign Princess and academic researcher Augusta is the main

financer of the airships many adventures into strange

lands to capture some dangerous rare species or finding some lost civilization or tomb.

Dirk Atwater the III

(AKA - Dave)

Security officer

Dirk once a Temporal Sheriff in the employ of Kronos

who traveled the time slips bringing to justice

time thieves and murders who damage the timeline.

He has now signed on as Security Officer of the Airship Lollypop

while he searches for time fugitives in the LollyPop's timeline.

Sometimes time travel has side effects!

Gadgets, Guns and Garb section

Dirk and Augusta's clothing were made by Augusta (Kris).

Dirk is wearing early western shirt, vest, boller hat and gunslingers great coat.

Augusta is wearing a model T era driving coat and matching hat, boots and dress.

The gadgets Dirk and Augusta carry are made by Dirk (Dave).

A temporal sheriff has to have a way to detect and chase temporal criminals thru time. A time travel back pack was my solution. Really had fun designing, collecting junk for and making this. Still more to do to it. The tubes light up and the gears all really turn inside. And any time machine had to have a flux capacitor to get me back to the future. Dirk and Augusta win at Windycon! Dirk and Augusta entered the Time Sheriff costume with the clothes she made and the gadgets he made in the Windycon 36 masquerade and won the Award "Best in Class- Novice"! Dirk also won a second award at Windycon 36 -the award "Best Prop of the Convention"!	Views of the time machine in the dark I recently added a lightning generator and a infinty light tunnel to my time machine. Every good steampunker needs a good set of goggles that do a little bit of everything.
	Coming from the wild west I thought a gear themed Sherriff's badge was in order. Augusta made the great suggestion I make a gear themed bollo tie to match.	Augusta's goggles I made to look more like driving goggles since she is wearing a Chitty chitty bang bang type coat.
Augusta's temporal sensor and tricorder type thingy.	It lights up in a couple spots in cool subtle ways. Sorry tough to see in this picture.


GUNS!! Every good steampunker should be armed against villains.
On of two matching temporal 6 shooters. Once fired these rounds hit you yesterday.		Close up of the temporal blunderbust. Lots of moving gears, lights and neat looking parts. And most important its ticks loudly.
Gatling Blunderbuss - This started as something I didn't plan to use but the more I tinkered with it while working on other things the more I liked the way it came out.	close-up of the gears. I made the gear box from clock parts and a gauge I tore apart.
Steampunk ray guns. Augusta is armed with these killers. Made these from old grease guns and parts from all kinds of stuff.
The Vaporizer Mark II - Dirk made this for Augusta to help her in her "negotiations" with sky pirates, or rampaging exotic species.	Powered by red and green liquefied lightning this weapon glows in the dark. The Mark I caused hair loss. Dirk was the first tester before proper shielding and the Mark II was created.

The Itox

Skye, Thaddeus and Andy shown in front of the Itox machine. This drink dispenser created by Thaddeus, Andy and Terry is designed to protect the secret tasty beverages of the airship Lollipop. To get any one of the 3 kinds of beverages the Itox makes to dispense the operator must set the 18 pull levers to the correct combination of in and out lever settings or the Itox will dispense a lesser beverage called "Gack", which is made in the ships brig by convict Terry.
