Pere Marquette State Park 
Pere Marquette State Park horse trails are some of the nicest trails in the St. Louis area. There are trails on both sides of Graham hollow road from the parking lot. The trails on west side of Graham hollow are open year round and are one of the few places open year round to riders.  The trails on the East side are closed Labor day to end of deer season Mid January and again during turkey season Mid aril to May. There is a gate closing the east side trails to let you know when they are closed. The trails on the West side are very well marked and provide trails for every level of rider. The trails on the East side are less well marked but provide some very challenging and beautiful rides including an overlook that lets you see the confluence of the rivers.  The West side trails have some very scenic rock formations and beautiful woods and valleys.  Deer in the area are very tame and used to people and horses.  Not unusual to see many deer right before dusk grazing near the horse parking lot.  No camping.

Directions

Directions to trail and parking area. Take you best route to Hwy 100 in Illinois.  Called the river road route 100 is a very scenic drive where eagles are often seen.  Take 100 just north of Grafton Illinois and watch for Graham Hollow road. Make a right on Graham Hollow road and parking lot is immediately on your left.
