Review by Lalita Creighton
Little Lost Creek is located a little bit east of Jonesburg, MO. The trail corridor runs along old logging and forest roads primarily and is well-marked. There are a few long, steep hills to climb and a bit of downfall. Watch out for old barbed-wire here and there near the trail. There are some nice scenic overlooks in various places. There is no water or toilet facilities. There is a picnic table and fire ring at the trail head. The best parking lot for horse trailers is the southern lot on Highway B, south of Pendleton.

Little
Lost Creek Conservation Area is located between Jonesburg and Warrenton
on Highway B. The
trail is largely flat with a few significantly long, relatively steep
hills. Most of the trail is
dirt but some of it is quite rocky, especially on the hills.
Some of the trail goes through forests, but large portions of it
go through old fields and wildlife food plot areas.
Often the trail runs along old forest roads, but be careful near
the north end of the loop. The
forest road leads into private property, and the trail turns either left
to go to a small parking lot or right to continue around the loop.
There are numerous service roads that intersect with the trail,
but they are clearly marked. Equestrian
use on the service roads is not permitted.
The
best lot for trailers is the southern lot on Highway B.
There is also a picnic table at this lot and is a nice place to
sit and have a snack after your ride.
Note that when you turn to get to second lot, it looks like
you're on an old gravel road.
Follow it back a bit and it widens out into the parking lot.
