The campground has sites for horse owners adjacent to riding trails.
Twenty four campsites are set aside for campers with horses. Utility
hookups are available. For your convenience, a dump station and central
service buildings with showers and rest rooms are offered. A pool sits
inside the campground.
Dale Hollow Lake State Resort offers 15 miles of trails.
These are designated as multi-purpose trails, open for hiking,
horseback riding, and mountain biking unless otherwise posted. No
motorized uses are allowed. The trails generally follow old logging roads
along narrow ridge tops through the park. Most of the trails end at the
tips of these ridges which form peninsulas into

Hollow
Lake
, requiring a return trip on the same trail.

, wildlife become accustomed to people. Roadsides fill with deer from the
largest whitetail herd in
Kentucky
. On the trails, see wild turkey, raccoons, foxes, otters, squirrels,
migrating waterfowl and in winter, even bald eagles!
Horse
Camping
Twenty-four campsites offer horse tie-ups and adjoin riding trails. You
will seldom have such a choice of horse-riding trails. There is no riding
concession inside the park. Open year-round;
