This park is very
small and located in southern
St. Louis
County
. The trail lengths are short, around 3 miles for one and 1
mile for the other. There is a 3rd trail but it is not open to
equestrian use.
The parking area
for horse trailers is being re-done, so there is currently a lot of
earthmoving equipment and gravel piles in it, but I was able to squeeze my
trailer in it. The parking lot on the other side of the railroad
tracks is not open to horse trailers.
There is a section
at the front of the
Spring Valley
trail that switchbacks up a hill where the trail is rocky with lots of
tree roots. Once up that, the trail is fairly easy with no steep
hills. The trail runs along a subdivision, but is in the woods and
is a nice easy ride. There is a wildlife pond so bring mosquito
spray.
