The
terrain isn't steep, but there's quite a few smaller hills that the
trail follows. The trail crosses hiking trails in several places,
but the trails are well-marked and easy to follow. In one place the
trail goes close to a swimming pool, and in another it goes along the edge
of a stable that used to be open for rentals but is presently closed.
The trail goes through two tunnels under the road, and you have to ride on
the paved bike path for a very short distance until you cross under one of
the tunnels. In another area, there is a concrete low-water bridge
to cross, and it's near a fairly busy road with a lot of traffic so be
sure your horse can handle cars whizzing up from behind, even though it's
a few feet over from the road.
There
are lots of deer here, and I've seen turkeys in the general area.
I've also seen a red-tailed hawk up close and personal while out on the
trail. The trail is beautiful, but the parking lot is very
small so it's best to get here early.
